Beachless Beach Blast!

Land or Sea, us old (some young)broads know how to have a good time. We're Clemmons bound on June 21 with our imagination in tow. If we're told we're at the beach then the beach it is....Thanks to the PURPLE BUTTERFLIES of the TRIAD for hosting this event of beach blanket bingo, catch of the day door prizes, shopping on the boardwalk, flip flop 50/50 raffle and top it all of with a sea side luncheon. Adorn those red or pink hats, put on your sun screen and we'll see you at the beach.

Failed Attempt

Deborah or myself managed to get to the Queen's council meeting on May 3, 2008. Deborah was sick with crud and I've torn some cartilage in my knee and still under doctors care as I up date this long ignored blog spot on May 18. Missed seeing our regulars and missed the chance to meet new friends. Hope to see every one soon.

Have a RED HAT day.

Happy 10th Birthday
Red Hat Society
APRIL 25
The year was nineteen ninety-eight
And on one special day
A group of girlfriends joined their hands
And ventured out to play.
They went to feast on scones and tea
On April twenty-fifth
They never could have guessed this thought
Would prove to be a gift!
Around the lacy tablecloth
They sipped and munched and chatted
In shades of purple they were garbed
And each one was red hatted!
Drinking tea and giggling
They had their best time, ever
When had they shared such fun before?
The answer? It was never!
So they decided on the spot
They'd meet like this again.
They'd ask their other friends to come
And tell them where and when.
This new "Red Hat Society"
(Yes, that's the name they chose)
Began that very afternoon
As everybody knows.
Now friendship, fun and sisterhood
Are spreading 'round the world'
Cause nothing is as fun, it seems,
As playing with the girls!

Laughter is the best medicine!

Q: Where can men over the age of 50 find younger, sexy women who are interested in them?

A: Try a bookstore-------under fiction.

Q: What can a man do while his wife is going through menopause?

A: Keep busy. If you're handy with tools, you can finish the basement. When you are done you will have a place to live.

Q: Someone has told me that menopause is mentioned in the Bible. Is that true? Where can it be found?

A: Yes. Matthew 14:92: 'And Mary rode Joseph's ass all the way to Egypt.'

Q: How can you increase the heart rate of your 50+ year old husband?

A: Tell him you're pregnant.

Q: How can you avoid that terrible curse of the elderly-----wrinkles?

A: Take off your glasses

Q: Seriously! What can I do for these crow's feet and all those wrinkles on my face?

A: Go braless. It will usually pull them out.

Q: Why should 50+ year old people use valet parking?

A: Valets don't forget where they park your car.

Q: Is it common for 50+ year olds to have problems with short term memory storage

A: Storing memory is not a problem, retrieving it is a problem.

Q: As people age, do they sleep more soundly?

A: Yes, but usually in the afternoon.

Q: Where should 50+ year olds look for eye glasses?

A: On their foreheads.

Q: What is the most common remark made by 50+ year olds when they enter antique stores?

A: 'Gosh, I remember these.'

Red Hats on the Mountain

~~ April 17, 2008 was a heart warming day shared
with 314 other "HATTERS". The hosting chapter "Rubies and Pearls" of Hillsville, Virginia provided a fun filled day with lots of entertainment, vendors, plenty of food and a promise of doing it all again next year. What a group of friendly ladies they are.....

Queen Linda was officially crowned and the coronation was beautiful and also a barrel of laughs. Thanks for sharing this day with us.....
Next outing will be the May 3, 2008 Queen's Council meeting in Winston Salem, NC. See all of you Queens and Vice Queens there.
